Dear friend and partner,

Last week I had a disturbing encounter with a man named Jim. I met Jim when I left Orlando to recover from my third mouth surgery this year! I was enjoying the majestic beauty of the sunset on my first evening at a beach condo provided by a dear friend, when Jim appeared. Instead of enjoying the sunset, Jim wanted to engage in conversation about politics and world religion – two of my least favorite subjects – especially at the beach!

During our 2 hour conversation, I learned that Jim is an influential psychologist, and a pantheist who embraces all religions, but not Christianity, although he does express “Christ consciousness.” Jim believes he is divine and worships the god within him and in everything around him. He believes the Holy Spirit lives in him. His god has no face, it is a universal energy. His clients are people who are frightened by the state of the world, and broken by their experience in the world. They are searching for healing, love, peace and unity. Jim helps them find their purpose in creating their own reality, and enlightens their spirit, mind and emotions by helping them find the god within them, by the power of positive thinking and teaching them a complex mind and imagination methodology to experience love, peace, unity and their inner divinity. Sadly, as a child Jim was raised in a deluded version of Christianity that did not teach the Word causing him to reject God and find other universal answers to spirituality.

Of all the things Jim told me, the most disturbing thing was that 95% of Jim’s clients are women! “Men would rather die than open their hearts” he told me, “but women are more vulnerable, they open up easily about their fear and pain in searching for answers to their brokenness.”

My heart has cried this week thinking about all the women being deceived Jim and others like him who the apostle Paul warned “creep into households and make captives of gullible women” 2 Timothy 3:5-7.

My encounter with Jim gave me a fresh, impassioned urgency to fulfill the call and purpose of Love UnVeiled – to set women free to be who God created them to be and to equip women in the church to put on the full armor of God so that we will be able to stand against the schemes of the enemy, empowering them in His word and His Spirit to lead other women who are afraid, hurting and broken to truth and freedom in Jesus Christ.

For we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts in the heavenly places! Ephesians 6:12.

So it was my special joy to lead a group of women who have joined me in the call of Love UnVeiled as they complete their 8th LUV Workshop and Commissioning (10/6&7) this past weekend.

Since March 2015 these women have laid aside family, job and ministry responsibilities for 3 days every 6 months, to meet with me and humble themselves to the process of being equipped in God’s word and transformed by His Spirit to reach women. God has been preparing and transforming them, often through great personal brokenness into humble leaders who reflect the image of Jesus as they willingly invest their lives in making disciples and bringing His freedom and truth to other women.

Today, I was encouraged to receive this text from one of the group – a message from her butterfly disciple, a broken young woman she meets with every week;“I have been noticing so many women around me, everywhere I go and the brokenness and hurt and neglect seems so tangible. It’s been on my mind a lot…and your friendship and investment in me, and what Love UnVeiled is doing for so many women is the greatest gift. I am so grateful”

Praise God that this young woman was rescued by our Butterfly leader, and not by Jim!!!

Please PRAY for the women who participated in our Workshop and Commissioning this past weekend!

*That God will fulfill the calling for which He has equipped and empowered Amy, Joella, Rhonda and Shelly in the last 4 years, to reach women and make disciples in Florida and wherever He leads them.

*The Holy Spirit will fill them with boldness and compassion, and lead them to women searching for hope and truth in their workplace, church and communities.

*For Jim, that God will open his eyes and bring him from darkness to light and deliver him from the power of Satan to God so that he may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance with those who have faith in Jesus Christ Acts 26:18.

Thank you again dear partner and friend, for your prayers and your giving to support me and the ministry of Love UnVeiled as we equip more women to make disciples and bring healing and freedom to women in bondage.

In His love
Liz
